Founder Director of Nemadhi
A compassionate clinical psychologist dedicated to providing effective, evidence-based treatments in a safe and supportive environment. With expertise in multiple therapeutic approaches, I help individuals discover their inner strength and achieve lasting well-being.
Nrethya Ayappa is a Counselling Psychologist driven by a simple but demanding belief: that healing happens when people are met exactly where they are, not where a textbook says they should be.
With a Master’s in Clinical Psychology and a Diploma in Counselling Psychology, Nrethya works across every stage of life — children navigating behavioral challenges, adolescents finding their footing, couples rebuilding trust, adults managing career and identity transitions, and elders seeking meaning and calm.
As Founder & Director of Nemadhi — a word that means Peace of Mind — she has built an independent, client-first practice supporting individuals across diverse cultural and demographic backgrounds, including clients across the United States, Canada, Australia, and the Middle East. She previously served as Senior Psychologist at Zoechea Well Being, and currently serves as Consultant Psychologist at Cloud Nine Hospital, where she brings her clinical expertise to a broader healthcare setting.
Over more than a decade of practice, Nrethya has completed over 10,000 hours of therapeutic work and supported more than 1,000 clients. Her approach draws on a wide range of evidence-based modalities — including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Emotional Intelligence, and Gratitude Therapy — but what defines her practice is the depth of connection she brings to every session, not just the range of tools.
Beyond conventional therapy, Nrethya is also a certified DMIT (Dermatoglyphics Multiple Intelligence Test) practitioner, using this specialized tool to help clients — particularly students and young adults — better understand their innate learning styles, personality traits, and areas of potential. This adds a unique, data-informed dimension to her practice, especially valuable in career guidance and parenting consultations.
Nrethya is certified by NIMHANS, trained in Psycho-Oncology, and an active member of the Bhartiya Counselling Psychology Association — a commitment to staying at the edge of her field so her clients always receive the best of it.
“At the heart of my work is a simple belief: every person deserves to feel heard, understood, and accepted. My mission is to provide compassionate, evidence-based care that helps people find clarity, healing, and lasting emotional well-being.”
— Nrethya Ayappa
